"While we were HOME"

WHO: PGK DANCE! (San Diego, CA)

WHAT: Presents the World Premiere of "While we were Home"
"While we were Home" is a compilation of 6 solos made from the same choreographic material presented as a DANCE for Film featuring PGK DANCERS: Jessica Kelley, Sarah Emmons, Kymmi Kellems, Marty Dorado, Nicolas Gilbertson and Bryan Burns.

Each solo displays a PGK DANCER in a room of their home space be it their: Kitchen, dining room, bedroom, balcony, living room, bathroom as they negotiate the impact and confinement to the site-specific nature each of their dances take on as created for them by PGK DANCE Director Peter G. Kalivas.

"While we were HOME"is glimpses of the dancers personalities sheltered in their real life homes spaces, some with tension, some flirty and whimsy, some contemplative, some lavishing in their backyard dancing broadly.

Mr. Kalivas, also a professional musician (Voice, arranging) has created the sound score for all using a mixture of music from classical to new age including audio/video excerpts merged into the Dance Film from Victoria Robertson (formerly San Diego Opera), famous for her Porch Opera Concerts at her North Park home in lieu of traditional live concerts during quarantine/stay at home orders. This a precursor to a collaboration PGK DANCE will do with Victoria Robertson later this year.
